2018 Cobb Wines Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Pommard & 114 Selection

96 Points | Robert Parker Wine Advocate

95 Points | Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Pommard 114 Selection is a bit darker and richer than the straight Pommard. Blackcherry, spice, licorice and earthy notes infuse the 2018 with so much character. Broad and ample in feel, the 2018 marries finesse with power. It is another stellar Pinot in this range from Ross Cobb. Drinking window: 2024-2033"

2018 Cobb Wines Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Pommard Selection

95 Points | Antonio Galloni

"The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Pommard is sensual, open-knit and so gracious. Bright red cherry fruit, orange peel, spice, mint and sweet pipe tobacco all meld together in a gorgeous, mid-weight Pinot that is so full of immediacy and allure. Readers will have a very hard time keeping their hands off this jewel of a wine. The 40% whole clusters are not at all perceptible. Drinking window: 2023-2033" - A. Galloni

2018 Cobb Wines Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Calera Selection

95 Points | Robert Parker Wine Advocate

96 Points | Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Calera Selection is holding back a lot in reserve, but its beauty and pedigree are apparent. Deep and powerful, with huge structure, the 2018 is a decidedly imposing Pinot. All the elements are there for it to develop into a stellar wine. Actually, it already is. The 2018 is a Pinot of sublime elegance and finesse, but it won't show all of its cards for at least a few years. Drinking window: 2024-2033"

2018 Cobb Wines Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection

97 Points | Robert Parker Wine Advocate

96 Points | Antonio Galloni, Vinous

"The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection is another fabulous wine in this range that brings together two heritage clones. Swan clone aromatics emerge from time to time, but the Calera tannins are a bit dominant at this stage. Here, too, readers will have to be very patient. There is a lot of wine here, for those who can wait. Drinking window: 2024-2038"

2017 Cobb Wines Doc's Ranch Vineyard "JoAnn's Block" Chardonnay

95 Points | Antonio Galloni

"The 2017 Chardonnay Doc's Ranch JoAnn's Block is bright, delicate and super-refined. Lemon peel, whiteflowers and white pepper all give the 2017 striking energy and drive. There is plenty of depth and tons of complexity to balance things out. Light tropical accents round out the finish. The 2017 is superb."

2017 Cobb Wines Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection

94 Points | Antonio Galloni

"Another addition to the range, the 2017 Pinot Noir Doc's Ranch Vineyard Swan & Calera Selection is delicate, nuanced and full of character. Sweet floral notes, red cherry, mint, cedar and rose petal all grace this exquisite, beautifully layered Pinot Noir. Energetic and bright, the Swan & Calera Selection has a ton to offer, but it needs time to be at its best. Today it feels a bit compact."

2017 Alma Fria Doc's Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir

94 Points | Wine & Spirits Magazine

"The result is a gentle, fragrant wine with soaring clarity to its tart red-cherry flavors. The texture is luscious, the earthy tannins in tune with the fruit. There's a fresh oceanic salinity that lasts, delicious with roast quail or other game birds."

2014 Red Car Doc’s Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir

93 Points |  Wine & Spirits Magazine, April 2018; Voted One of the Year’s Best Pinot Noirs

“You can feel the coastal cool the minute you smell it, the scent like wind blowing over a field of sage and lavender. The flavors are as transparent as its light, bright red color would suggest – vibrant and foresty, with the clean, mouthwatering snap of fresh cranberries.”

2012 Red Car Wine Company Doc’s Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir

Antonio Galloni, Jan 2015

“The 2012 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch Vineyard is soft, open and highly expressive…  Sweet tobacco, dried cherries and spices meld together in a pliant, expressive Pinot to drink now and over the next few years.  Floral and savory notes suggest whole clusters, but the 2012 was made entirely from destemmed fruit.  This is a decidedly perfumed, mid-weight Pinot Noir from Red Car.”

2011 Red Car Wine Company Doc’s Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir

92 Points | International Wine Cellar, May/June 2013

“Vivid ruby-red. Seductive aromas of raspberry, cherry-cola and fresh rose, with Asian spice and anise accents building with air. Juicy and precise on the palate, offering gently sweet red fruit flavors and a suave floral quality. Shows impressive energy and clarity on the finish, which features a zesty blood orange nuance.”

2010 Red Car Wine Company Doc’s Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir

91 Points |  International Wine Cellar, May/June 2012

“Vivid red. Sexy, complex nose offers redcurrant, raspberry, fresh rose, minerals and a hint of rhubarb. Lively acidity gives energy and lift to zesty red fruit and spicecake flavors. Silky and pliant, gaining sweetness with air and finishing long and lively, with silky tannins and lingering notes of flowers and herbs.”

2009 Evening Land Vineyards Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch Vineyard Sonoma Coast

95 Points |  Wine & Spirits Magazine, Oct 2011

“The scent of this wine takes on a life of its own, pulling toward the coast with hints of kelp and seaweed, toward the dairy farms of Sonoma’s coastal hills, centered on a juicy core that’s complex rather than directly fruity or overtly sweet. It rises out of the glass in resonant layers of spice, beef bouillon, bright red tomato skin and darker, earthy notes in the tannin. Those vines offer a profound take on the far Sonoma coast, a wine that gains increasing depth as it takes on air, one that should perform well in the cellar.”
